Here are some of my favorite recipes! Harvest Pear Crisp TOPPING: 1/2 cup all-purpouse flour 1/2 cup packed dark brown sugar 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon 1/4 tsp. salt 1/2 cup butter, cut up, cold 1 cup old fashion oats 1/2 cup coarsely chopped whole raw almonds 1/4 cup candied ginger, small dice FILLING: 1/2 cup granulated sugar 2 Tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 tsp. salt 6 large pears, firm and not ripened SERVED WITH: Your favorite whipped cream Ground nutmeg, for garnish INSTRUCTIONS: 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. 2. Whisk flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and salt in bowl. Add butter. Mix with hands until moist clumps form. Stir in oats, almonds and ginger. Regrigerate until chilled. 3. Whisk sugar, cornstarch, cinnamon and salt in large bowl. Add pears and toss in sugar mixture. 4. Add pear mixture to glass baking dish. Top with chilled topping. Bake until topping is crisp and golden brown and bubbling. Appx. 45 minutes. Serve warm with whipped cream and nutmeg. |
